Yesterday, on Monday, a few artistic members of the A-1 Home Care/ A-1 Domestic Professional Services family trekked out to Pasadena to visit Two Palms Nursing Center for an afternoon of art, chatting, and Christmas fun!
We started out with a movie featuring old time Christmas scenes. After everyone was settled and comfortably munching on cookies, we got to work on our glittery art pieces:
We were working on decorating Christmas ornaments to hang on the tree at the nurse's hub. Everyone worked hard, and some people even made 2! It was great fun to be able to talk with residents and have a laugh as we crafted holiday ornaments.

After the hour was up, we gathered round and presented the center's activities director Lerna with a gift bag filled with snacks and other goodies.
We were so lucky and happy to be able to interact with the great residents at Two Palms. We wish you a lovely holiday, and hope to see you soon!

Taking care of your skin post surgery/ After Surgery Care in Pasadena
When you choose to have surgery, you can take a significant step toward
improving the appearance and health of your skin. For the fastest recovery and
best results, it’s essential for you to take special care of your skin in the
first few days and weeks after surgery.
Considering the fact that surgery includes sutures and stitches, it takes some babying to get your skin back or near original shape.

How to Care for Skin After Surgery
- Baby your skin. “To optimize your results, you want to heal without any discoloration. If your skin is really red, you really want to baby it after surgery to prevent pigmentation. Make sure you’re using mild, hypoallergenic products, like non-soap cleansers and fragrance-free moisturizers.
- Be extra vigilant about sun protection.
- Let your wounds heal. No matter how tempted you are to pick at your peeling skin or scabs after surgery in an effort to speed your recovery -- don’t. You could increase your likelihood of infection or scarring.
- Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Whether you’ve had a minor procedure or an all-out surgery, drinking six to eight glasses of water a day will help rejuvenate your skin from the inside out and flush any toxins from your system.
